I am reminded of an observation:

"There's something Newtonian about paleontology: every
conclusion produces an equal and opposite conclusion."
                -- Brian M. McCarthy

And also of Robin Reed's farewell message to the Dinosaur Mailing List:

"I wish you all happiness and harmony, and that you
will all find something you can agree on, however small."

Another time when I mentioned that on-list, John Conway replied:

The day we all agree will be a sad (and boring) day
        for dinosaur science.

... Yes, I'm disagreeing about the value of agreeing... :-)

:-)
