Tyrannosaurid speed (was Re: Tyrannosaurus feeding paper)

On a side note, has any research been done on the speed of tyrannosaurs BESIDES the larger Tyrannosaurus. I' ve always been on the anti-100% scavenger role for T-Rex. For one, UNTIL Tyrannosaurus reached full-size, do you think the other predators who would have had to hypothetically do the killING are just gonna say "here, you can have this" to a another predator that's smaller and less of a threat. To compare it to a living example, I think of the cheetah, where most all other competition will make them 'hit the road' - tyrannosaurs would have to then by VERY alert, AS WELL as quick enough to get away from this at-the-time bigger [or group of bigger] predator(s), which would actually NECESSITATE them to be speedy buggers, less they . . . . die.
Any thoughts?
