Dinosaurs haven't walked the face of the planet for 65 million years, but this
summer they are making a reappearance in the Queen City.
The Cincinnati Zoo officially opened Dino-Zone Thursday complete with life-size
dinosaurs from T-Rex to Stegosaurus.
The zoo worked hard to make the exhibit look authentic with 500 trees added to
give it a prehistoric feel.
The exhibit uses a motion picture ride to take you through a dinosaur-filled
island.
Zoo officials think the exhibit will be a great learning experience for kids of
all ages.
"What we try to do here at the zoo, its pretty cool place cause we're able to
compare the way dinos lived with more familiar animals to kids, like the
omiosauraus and the giraffe. T-Rex and a group of hyenas, actually able to make
comparisons about how these animals adapted to survive," Dave Jenike of the
Cincinnati Zoo said.
Dino-Zone will be on exhibit at the zoo through Labor Day.
