The same reason why a cat or a dog struggle to avoid taking a bath or going to
the vet... The animals (Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus) must have been on life
or death situation and strange things happen.
On the other hand, I for example consider it more safe to grab a ram
(domesticated kind) by the horns than by other parts of the body where it
could easily take a jab at me. Then, a slight twisting motion to the head is
enough to subdue the animal.
