This may be, but there is only mention of the sun being obscured for
eighteen months beginning 535 AD. Historical documents from several
places confirm this. Whatever caused the general cooling may have been a
quite separate phenomenon than that which blocked out the sun for a
short time.
Personally, I suspect earthly causes are just as likely as
extraterrestrial ones.
