Texas Tyrannosaurid and Dromaeosaurid questions
I've got a few questions regarding Texas Tyrannosaurids and Dromaeosaurids
that may
or may not be able to be answered, but I thought I'd give it a shot here
anyway.
1) Texas Tyrannosaurid Material:
We have Lawson's (TMM 41436-1 (juvenile): left maxilla),
and obviously we have isolated teeth that appear to be Tyrannosaurid,
is there any other material from Texas tentatively assigned to Tyrannosaurid
besides TMM 41436-1 (juvenile): left maxilla and a few isolated teeth?
2) A quote from Julia Sankey's 2001 "Late Campanian Southern Dinosaurs,
Aguja Formation, Big Bend, Texas": "Standhardt (1986) reported three
tyrannosaur
morphotypes from the uppermost aguja". I do not have Standhardt (1986) and
wondered if someone could clarify this for me. Is he saying that possibly
there
were three different Tyrannosaurids in Texas around 74 mya? And what was
the material that led to this assessment?
3) Do we have any maximum size estimates for Texas Dromaeosaurids? And
if so what is the material that led to this assessment?
Thank you in advance for any comments or answers on these subjects.
