breedorum?

Hi,
     I recently requested info on the inspiriation for the name D. wetherilli.  
Now I have a question about D. breedorum.  I know who it's named after, but is 
it William J. Breed or Breeds?  I've heard both.  I'm having a little trouble 
figuring out the possesive use of the '.
     Any light shed on this issue would be most helpful.
