SVP Memoir's A. olseni age
Is a Campanian age really the most up to date and accurate estimate for
the Iren Dabasu formation and Alectrosaurus? IIRC Currie only said that
Iren Dabasu was post Cenomanian, or Turonian to Campanian. In 2001 Kikland
and Wolfe wrote that similarities between a North American therizinosaur and
Segnosaurus and Erlicosaurus could help resolve the age of the
Baynshirenskayasvita "as closer to Turonian than Campanian". And IIRC, the
Baynshirenian beds of Burkhant are considered to lie within the
pre-Campanian Cretaceous long normal.
