Actually, the joke about it being the "brontosaurus of paleontology jobs" and 
"it's the job that was mistaken for a previously known and described job" 
isn't far from the truth.  The actual _Tyrannosaurus rex_ version of this job 
was announced about a year before the current version but then was withdrawn 
and revised.  The original job was meant to attract the very top echelon in 
paleontology and had a much higher salary and somewhat different duties.  

Just because we can, here, from Vrtpaleo, is the announcement for the job 
that Matt Carrano will fill.

The Department of Paleobiology seeks a permanent, full-time Curator whose 
research specialty is in the evolution, systematics, paleoecology and/or 
functional morphology of Mesozoic Dinosauria and/or related Reptilia.  The 
position will be filled at the GS12/13 level (salary range of $55,694 to 
$86,095 commensurate with experience.)  In addition to a record of 
peer-reviewed research publications on dinosaurs and/or related Reptilia, 
applicants are expected to have experience and interest in science education 
as well as conducting vertebrate paleontological fieldwork.
