Hi all,
There is nothing new about this genus of
pterosaur, at least, not if any of you had acces to David Peter's site. On his
page about the genus Tupuxuara before the major update, there was an image
showing two specimens of this other Brazilian genus; one was a female, the other
was a male. The male skull is the skull now assigned to Thalassodromeus, which
seems a plausible option. Too bad we are only dealing with a skull here, so that
the rest of the skeleton cannot be compared to the postcranial material of
Tupuxuara to see if David Peter was right when he assigned it to that genus. Any
ideas why or why not it should be assigned to Tupuxuara?
Cheers,
Rutger Jansma
