The death of Dr. William A.S. Sarjeant, paleoichnologist...

    I relay sad news of the death, yesterday morning, July 8, of well-known
paleoichnologist, Dr. William A.S. Sarjeant, after a short battle with
cancer.  I only knew him by correspondence in the last couple of months of
his life, but am deeply grateful for the copies of so many of his papers he
sent me, and of the discussions I enjoyed with him via email.

    Dr. Sarjeant's contributions to paleoichnology remain, as a substantial
legacy for science.

    Sadly and with fond remembrance of a man of science who remained
generous and kind, even in the face of death.
