Really?  I could almost swear it looks like some kind of giant vein or 
artery...

I think I remember reading something along the same lines in Paul's PDW or 
_The Scientific American Book of Dinosaurs_, but maybe I'm wrong.  I'd a 
appreciate a little more input, though...
