Indeed. On one trip to a tidal flat/lagoon north of San Diego about a decade 
ago I observed seven different gull species and three different sandpiper 
species all foraging together. Surely there could have been a number of 
similar species of archaeropterygids (and other dinobird families) inhabiting 
the Late Jurassic Solnhofen region.
