As I stated, Giraffa camelopardalis is virtually mute -- making few sounds...audible to the human ear. However, giraffe do communicate (like elephants) with infrasonic sounds, and by communication I mean just that: an ability to convey meaning(s) with intonations humans cannot hear. This has advantages, in that it is possible that, within certain range frequencies, predators may not be able to hear what the prey are "saying".
