Ah, I forgot his chapter in the Ostrom Symposium volume. Well, there he puts
it between *Hesperornis* and (*Ichthyornis* + *Anas*), and it's not sure
that such a position exists. (*Apsaravis* has also been given such a
position, but that has changed, according to something unpublished cited in
another chapter in the same book, now it's outside Ornithurae.) The
*Potamornis* paper argues for good old Odontognathae ( = a clade of
Ichthyornithidae + Hesperornithiformes, but not Neornithes), and the
arguments sound good to me.
