Another Good New Book

Hey all,
It's nice to see that HP Greg Paul's new book has been released. I was able to
catch a "sneak peak" at it this weekend at a bookstore, and hopefully my copy
will arrive soon.

There is another good, relatively new book that, to my knowledge, has not been
mentioned yet onlist. Bone Wars, which I believe was published towards the end
of last year, focuses on Andrew Carnegie's _Diplodocus_: its excavation,
preparating, mounting, and celebrity. It is written by a Wyoming journalist,
Tom Rea, and his journalistic skills make the narrative a quick and enjoyable
read.

I especially liked how the text focused on some colorful paleontological
characters that are often overlooked in the obligatory Marsh and Cope books,
including W.H. Reed and Jacob Wortman. A nice background of Holland and
Hatcher is also given. All in all, this is a very good book that focuses on
the history of paleontology.
