Agreed. But alas, there's nary a book out there that details the known
dinosaurian skin impressions. I guess I'll just have to look forward to
Tracy Ford's upcoming publication.
But that said, getting a real, animated sense of life from fossilized
patches of skin is difficult. What I'm looking for is a resource or two
where I can really get a feeling for how both the scales and feathers are
patterned, and how the sunlight interacts with them.
I can get you some refs at a later point, BTW.
