Triassic Quolls... (Re: When Dinosaurs Ruled China)

Just saw the WDR (minus the A) on Aussie TV (along with WDRC - uck!). If
the DVD release is identical to the US TV release of WDRA (Yes I couldn't
wait and ordered the DVD! Pathetic isn't it?!) then I'd gather that WDR
differs from WDRA in the composition of the palaeontologist cutscenes. WDRA
commentary consists entirely of US/Canadian researchers...in WDR some of
these are replaced by overseas scientists, presumably to give the show a
more "cosmopolitan" feel (doesn't work). Where Phil Currie talks about
T.rex predation in WDRA, David Norman goes on about theropod group-hunting
in WDR. Thats all well and good but alas some of the "foreign" commentary
has little relevance to the CGI subject matter and adds to the already
confusing narration (eg. What does the discovery of Paralititan have to do
with the Zuni fauna?). I might be wrong but a few inconsequential bits of
CGI seem to have also been cut from WDR to make room for more live
commentary.

Everything good/bad about the show has already been said... except for that
damn quoll! After all that trouble to animate that traversodont and they
feed an Eastern Quoll (Dasyurus viverrinus) to the Coelophysis! Dasyurid
marsupials in the Newark!? Thats even more out of place than a certain
Albian Antarctic Coati!!!

One last thing...I was wondering why images from Babylon 5 were flashing
through my head as I watched the show...then I saw who wrote the music
score...

Cheerio
