My paleoart exhibition

Hi dear dino-list members,

My artistic exhibition in Manhay (Ardennes, south Belgium) is just finished. Most of artwork exposed was paleoart, and I added some prints of skels and skulls, a time scale and sheets from the Dinosauricon. It was the first one with that stuff, and it's been a very good experiment. My dinosaurs were even included in a collective and a bit "psychedelic" painting which will stay in the "communal House". We had much fun doing this.

Many people liked my drawings for the artistic work, some were interested by dinosaurs.

But the most interested were CHILDREN - and even more because I've made some quick drawings of an hypsilophodontid head reconstruction (what a kind dino!) I offered them (they were watching me drawing: some were _fascinated_ by paleo-art).

I had sometimes to explain the difference between the _real_Velociraptor_ and the JP "raptor".

I exposed a print of the cf._Sinornithosaurus_ feathered fossil and my reconstruction and talk to them about feathered dinosaurs.
Some were very surprised when I told them that they had dinosaurs in their gate (Passer,...), but I think most of 'em believed me.

At the end of the exhibition, some kids kept the additional prints: a _Carcharodontosaurus_ skul photo, the beautiful cf._Sinornithosaurus_ photo, an _Hypsilophodon_ skel reconstruction...

I suggest to paleoartists on the list to do the same once a year or so, to prepare some prints of beatiful fossils and give them a copy, and to prepare some little sheets of paper and to draw for them and in front of 'em a kind dinosaur they have "in hand".

It really works.
