Re: Noasaurid help

I don't know much about noasaurids unless you count Masiakasaurus or Elaphrosaurus, but here is something I dug up at the Dinsoauricon.

"Some characteristics of at least some noasaurids are: very large cervical epipophyses, hyperextendable second pedal digit, tapered preacetabular process, reduced lateral metatarsals, low rounded anterior cervical neural spines and elongate anterior dorsal centra. None of these are known for all taxa, since noasaurids are not well-known." -- T. Mike Keesey

Personally, I think hyperextendable toe is representative of the noasaurinae not the elaphrosaurus_+_masiakasaurus clade

So a character chart could be arranged like this (wild speculation here!):

NOASAURIDAE (clade_[Noasaurus_>_Abelisaurus])

everything above except the hyperextendable second pedal digit.

"ELAPHROSAURINAE (=MASIAKASAURINAE)" unofficial (clade_[Elaphrosaurus_>_Noasaurus])

heterodont teeth and more possible traits. (i have a reconstruction of both elaphro and masiaka, so I will compare the two)

NOASAURINAE (clade_[Noasaurus_>_Elaphrosaurus])

switchblade toe claw or hyperextendable second pedal digit : )
