I apologize if my response was a bit terse, although mocking me doesnt
exactly support your position.  The fact is, even though this is not some
new great discovery, how would you like to be scooped on something you've
spent a considerable amount of time on?  Discussions in a public forum such
as the DML of research that is in progress or about to be submitted to press
can be very dangerous.  Its one thing if you've seen the specimen first
hand, and this is a personal observation.  However, we are talking about
something that Sam Welles told somebody else who is telling the list.  I
think we owe it to the researcher to stop discussion of this thread since we
know that something is coming out on the topic.  If you'd like to continue
this discussion, please contact me off list.

JEEZ right back at you.

At any one time on the planet Earth I'm sure somebody is writing or
submitting or reviewing a great many papers on a great many topics. The
anatomy of dinosaurs included. Does that mean we all have to stop discussing
any anatomical feature of dinsoaurs which might be the subject of any one of
these papers?

JEEZ, we could wait for a whole year until the paper comes out - are we all
expected to desist from talking about such an interesting issue? JEEZ, I'm
not releasing data or conclusions that were the subject of the
soon-to-be-submitted paper. JEEZ, I don't think this discussion concerns a
new genus or species which is soon to be published (and I haven't mentioned
any have I?) And JEEZ, I don't think it concerns fossil material that is
comercially on sale. So JEEZ why don't you just relax and not be so darn
snotty.
