An important ref with regards to the species problem

I ran across the following ref the other day, and wondered why it hadn't
been cited in the recent discussion on what is a species; as it pertains to
breeding between genera:

October 4th, 1969 issue of Nature 224(5214)

THE HOAT (Captured near the Waters of Minnetonka)

Although scattered reports indicate that a small herd of hoats has been
spotted near Tuktoyaktuk, Canada, it is believed that the hoat pictured
above is the only one in captivity. Upon capture, experiments were begun to
study the breeding habits of the creature. These were very difficult with
one animal. We did note, however, that the creature becomes very excited
during lightning storms. It is hoped that another hoat will be found for
further experiments. In the meantime, a hoat trap is being designed.

Obviously a seminal paper on breeding between genera :)
