Remember Spengler's idea that just before a lineage becomes extinct 
it eneters a baroque phase, over-elaborate and pointless.  Hadrosaur 
headgear and ceratopsian collar ruffles would be examples of 
senescence.
Cladistics does not mean a loss of vigor and discovery.  Just 
as days have false dawns, so science can endure false twilights.
