Comments on Tyrannosaur skin article
<<Detrich said the big debate about the fossilized skin has been whether the
animal had feathers, or fur, or was reptilian [scales].>>
Have I missed the debate, somehow?
<<"It looked like they were birdlike," Alan Detrich said of the fossilized
skin, comparing its appearance to that of a plucked chicken.>>
Is this suggesting that *Tyrannosaurus* was covered in a downy coat with
sporadic little osteoderms here and there? I've considered this before
after reading Phil Currie's essay in Sci. Am. Book of Dinosaurs. I've even
done a couple art sketchs with this idea. Anyone wish to comment?
