Comments on Tyrannosaur skin article

Is this suggesting that *Tyrannosaurus* was covered in a downy coat with 
sporadic little osteoderms here and there?  I've considered this before 
after reading Phil Currie's essay in Sci. Am. Book of Dinosaurs.  I've even 
done a couple art sketchs with this idea.  Anyone wish to comment?
