Re: Taking your sea cow out for a walk



Hetre in east central Florida (the *other* Melbourne, which, alas, boasts no
sauropods, only space shuttles), the local manatee (_Trichechus manatus_)
population and its collective survival is a matter of heated debate between
recreational boaters and  concerned preservationists.

The image I get is that of walking my pet proto-manatee along Route U.S. 1
and having it run over by a speeding tourist in his SUV.
