Are there such steep dunes?
Most assuredly, and I can say this from first hand experience when I use to
ride my ATC. There isn't 90% dunes because the loose sand grains can't
adhere, but they can get very steep. I'm sure someone (one of the geology
people) on the list can tell us how steep they can get.
