Breakfast in the Big Sky Country

The 5ADLG was a mountainous success, with 40 DMLers arriving for the 7 a.m.
call to breakfast. Attendees were: Matt Bonnan and his fiancee Jessica
White, Angela Botzer, Mike Brett-Surman, Chris Brochu, Pete Buchholz, Joe
Daniel, Mike de Sosa, Andy Farke, Jim Farlow, Tracy Ford, Rob Gay, Cliff
Green and his wife Eileen, Mark Hallett, Scott Hartman, Thom Holmes, Tom
Holtz, Tom Hopp, Judy Horan, Randall Imis, Mike Keesey, Mary Kirkaldy, Jenny
Lando, Tom Lipka, Sam McLeod, Todd Marshall, Thomas Miller, Bruce Mortensen,
Mickey Mortimer, Jim Norton, George Olshevsky, Dick Peirce, Luis Rey and his
wife Carmen, Tom Robira, Michael Skrepnick, Diane Smith, Jonathan Wagner, and
Adam Yates.

We took over the North Union Market for the hunting/gathering/scavenging of
pastries, coffee and juice, and most of us were there at 7 a.m. sharp (since
the shuttle had either a 6:30 a.m. or 7 a.m. departure time from the hotel).
We introduced ourselves, with some surprises including Sam McLeod of Vrtpaleo
(who is also a co-owner of our list), and some funny "confessionals"
including one person who said "I'm ____, and I've been timed out."

We had a lively drawing for prizes generously donated by Angela Botzer, Tracy
Ford, Mark Hallett, Tom Hopp, Mike Keesey, Jenny Lando, Luis Rey, Michael
Skrepnick, and Diane Smith (let me know if I have forgotten anyone). A
special thank you to Pat Norton who, although he couldn't attend SVP this
year, made a financial contribution towards the breakfast. Pete Buchholz'
assistance in the planning and logistics of the breakfast was invaluable.

We broke at 8 a.m. to run to the opening speeches for the conference, which
were actually just down the hall. Several of us took pictures at the
breakfast (but who could compete with Dick Peirce?), and we should have those
up on a website soon. On to the Norman, Oklahoma Marriott Conference Center
next year.
