Re: Tyrannosaur hunter-gatherers?

<There's a philosophical book called "The truth is not in the middle". A
compromise between conflicting hypotheses can be correct, but a priori the
compromise is no more probable than any other possibility.>

Worthwile point. A Byzantine Emperor, faced with battles in the streets
between those who favored icons and iconoclasts, decreed an even-handed,
reasonable doctrinal compromise. The riots became frenzied as both sides
attacked the Emperor's idea in addition to their opponents'.
However, your prior observation shows that in fact a compromise can be the
most reasonable result:

<Now that's semantics -- this combination is called "predator". All living
predators whose behavior is known to some extent do both, except the
cheetahs which are too weak to defend a carcass.>

So, if the dispute is in fact between hunter (rather than predator) and
scavenger, then the position in the middle does seem the most reasonable.
In fact, I wonder how this dispute gutters on. Maybe awaiting a partial
retraction from the uhm... iconoclastic HP Horner.
