DINOSAURIA BARGAIN!
Jaime A. Headden said in a posting to this list (to John Bois), "You
might want to pick up _the Dinosauria_,..."
Well, if anyone wants the CLOTH-BOUND edition of The Dinosauria edited
by David B. Weishampel, Peter Dodson, and Halszka Osmolska that retails for
$135 (Amazon.com's current price is also $135, and it offers the paper-back
version for $49.95.), it can now be purchased for only $50, while supplies
last, from the publisher, the University of California Press, toll-free by
phone at 1-800-777-4726. Or, one can order toll-free, by fax, at
1-800-999-1958. Their customer service number (not toll free) is
1-609-883-1759. All numbers listed as if being dialed in the USA and,
possibly, Canada, but over-seas callers must dial appropriate prefix
numbers.
One might visit their website at: www.ucpress.edu
This is, IMO, not a book for the casual somewhat dinosaur-interested lay
reader, but for those seriously interested in dinosaur diagnostics. It is
an important reference book, and has 752 pages and 305 illustrations.
The new version of The Dinosauria is in preparation, and I am not sure
of the projected publication, but suspect it is more than a year away.
Anyhow, at $50, if one can afford it, this 1990 book is a great addition to
the serious dinophile's library. Some would consider it a must, although it
is far from up-to-date, ten years later.
I suggest getting it before the supply is exhausted.
