WASHINGTON, May 24 ? A mouselike animal that
lived 195 million years ago had a body so tiny that
it could have curled up on a half dollar. But
researchers say the wee mammal may have been
the ancestor of us all. A fossil of the animal?s skull
was found in China and scientists have identified
it as a previously unknown species that had a
proportionately bigger brain and more complex
skull structure than other mammals of the era.
