Like the Cologne Cathedral which had the misfortune to sit exactly next to
not only the Rhine River but also to the mail rail head for the area.
Much of the church was badly damaged.  In looking at aerial photos of the
church the entire area around it on all sides was levelled, so I think the
airmen were at least trying their best.  Jane D
