I've been wondering what you thought of the "Quetzacotalus" from _When
Dinosaurs Roamed..._.  It certainly would have had no problem avoiding that
_Tyrannosaurus_ if it had just used the handspring-takeoff.

And with all those enormous muscle attachments, wouldn't the thing have
FLAPPED, at least a little?
