Re: Universal Time

Stacey, Universal Time (the time at O degrees longitude) is basically the same thing as Greenwich Mean Time (i.e., London time). And being a 24-hour based time, there is therefore no need for the designations A.M. and P.M. To convert UT to EST, just subtract 5 hours. 23:00 UT would therefore be 18:00 EST (i.e. 6:00 P.M.). I'm just glad I don't live near the International Date Line and have the additional confusion of what day it is in other parts of the world. -----------Ken
