What does the "antirrhopus" mean in Deinonychus antirrhopus?
As I understand it, the word "antirrhopus" means "upturned," in reference
to
the large, upturned claw of _Deinonychus_. As such, _Deinonychus
antirrhopus_ would mean something like "upturned terrible claw." I like
it!
