RE: KT Boundary



Actually, the Cambrian lost out in the abbreviation sense, too (it's formal symbol is a "C" with a short horizontal line through the middle).  It is Carboniferous that technically has the "C" as its symbol.

The K in this IS confusing at first,and is what threw me; but now that I think about it it makes perfect sense, C can not be used because  the Cambrian period predates the Cretaceous.  Thanks everyone!
