Mononychus: a nomeclatorial question for the list ...

Hi all:

I must admit I'm a bit confused by this, but maybe someone on the list can
help me out here.

_Mononychus_ Perle, Norell, Chiappe, and Clark 1993 was apparently a junior
homonym for _Mononychus_ Scheuppel 1824, which was the genus name given to
an insect (Insecta: Coleoptera). My question is, what exactly has happened
here? Did the ICZN decide to override priority and give _Mononychus_ to
Perle et al.? What happened to the insect?

Anyone know how the whole junior homonym thing is supposed to work?

Thanks,
