Southwest Museum and the Southwest Paleontological Society, 53 N. Macdonald
Street, Mesa, Arizona, are your hosts for the 2001 WAVP meeting. The
symposium will be held at the Rendezvous Center at 263 N. Center Street.
Our new natural history hall is open, which has doubled the size of the
museum. Come see us and make this the best WAVP ever! The Southwest
Paleontological Symposium has been an annual affair at our museum. In
2000 this symposium attracted about 80 participants and 20 presentations.
For 2001 this symposium will be held jointly with WAVP. Invertebrate and
paleobotanical papers are still welcome, and will be held as separate sessions
if enough interest is present. Title,
abstract, or paper? In keeping with the informal nature of WAVP, we will
accept any paper upon providing us with a title, including non-vertebrate talks
(or presentations?). Our Southwest Paleontological Symposium
traditionally publishes a museum bulletin with short papers and abstracts of
talks. Several papers have already been submitted, so we intend to
continue this tradition. Abstracts will be available at the symposium,
and are included in the price of the symposium. The symposium volume will
be available within a year at a nominal charge. Deadline and submission
guidelines are found below: Deadlines: Submission
