Argentine Claims World's Biggest Dinosaur Find
By Mayra Pertossi
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Reuters) - An Argentine paleontologist
claimed on Thursday to have unearthed remains of the world's
largest dinosaur in the latest find to show the nation's richness
in bones -- and its competition between their hunters.
Jorge Calvo told Reuters he had found vertebrae of a giant
sauropoda (herbivore) in Rio Negro province, 750 miles southwest of
Buenos Aires, that measured roughly a yard across, estimating the
animal weighed 90-100 tons, stood about 52 feet tall and was about
130 feet long.
