Anyone wondered what our own investigations of the fossil record have on these future palaeontologists? What if by chance the remains of a museum back room are preserved, and they find a huge collection of creatures that we know to be from widely different times and places all in the one deposit?
Maybe we should carve a plaeontology text into something that doesn't break down in a hurry, just so they have a reference explaining the weird occurence of creatures from the Palaeozoic to the Tertiary all preserved in Quarternary sediments...
