Re: oviraptorid on NetLaputa website
> Ok, now that look spinosaurine to me. I don't understand why that snout
has a weird teardrop-shaped naris, but it displays a few synapomorphies with
the
spinosaurinae. The first premaxillary tooth is much smaller than 2 or 3, and
the posterior premaxillary teeth are widely spaced. I've never seen the
figure for the snout of Spinosaurus maroccanus, but that's the only thing I
think this could be. Hopefully someone can confirm?<
What about it says that it must be a premax/max complex? I first thought
this too, but then I realized that there was only a small foramen, and
nothing akin to a narial opening. I also fail to see a suture where there
should be one between the premax and the max...
My two cents. Sorry if this message makes little sense; I'm sick and tired.
Hopefully, someone else can point out the flaws in my thought process.
