Habitat is not the issue and doesn't determine what is or is not a dinosaur. 
Dinosaurs didn't exist in grasslands because there was no grass in the 
Mesozoic; had there been, dinosaurs surely would have lived in grasslands. 
They lived everywhere as far as we know, since practically every Mesozoic 
terrestrial deposit from Late Triassic to Late Cretaceous includes dinosaur 
fossils.
