How many people saw the specimen before the paper
was published? How many people will see it at AMNH who haven't read the
paper? How many will see it who will >never< read the paper? What possible
connection does the publishing of a paper have to do with the
public display or viewing--via the internet or otherwise--of an
historical artifact?
