Oh, no!
I didn't realize before that that was the rationale for the species name. If
they had wanted to name the animal in honor of Placido, it should have been
"_placidoi_"; or, if they wanted to get artsy, they could have used the
genitive of the Latin version of the name: "_placidi_".
But _Santanaraptor placidus_ means "placid (slow, peaceful) Santana snatcher"!
At least, that's how I read it...
