Was the Kerguelen plateau a bridge between India
and Antarctica? It makes Indo-Madagascar Cretaceous fauna more similar to
Neogondwana (South America+Antarctida+Australia) than Africa. Abelisaurs,
titanosaurs and Gondwanatherian mammals are a proof.
Then, India can be a clue to explain
zoogeographical mysteries like the similarity between European Eocene and
South American avifaunas (ratites, phorusrhacids, galliforms). During Cretaceous
and Paleocene, India might carried a Gondwanic terrestrial fauna to Asia
and from it to Europe.
