Re: Byronosaurus

Dan Benson asked
Does anybody know the translation of the "Byron" bit of Byronosaurus? (I'm
guessing its a part of the geography?)

According to an advance copy of the JVP paper, it's named after Byron Jaffe whose family supported the American Museum-Mongolian expedition which found it. The paper is by Mark Norell, Peter Makovicky, and James M. Clark.

The American Museum put out a press release and will be showing the fossil in an exhibit opening May 19. They probably have a press release somewhere at www.amnh.org.
