Not quite paleo news, but...
Dr. Richard Muller, origonal proponent of the Nemesis theory, argues on
the basis of an analysis of glass beads brought back from the lunar soil
by Apollo 14, that the solar system erupted in a `meteorite blitz' about
four hundred million years ago after 3 billion years of quiet. Authors
note a possible connection between this and the Cambrian explosion.
