Re: Lava and dinosaurs



There is a whooly rhino somewheres in Washington state that was covered
up by ash, decomposed and basically made a cast of the original aniaml
(probably alive as the form is in an upright position) exactly as the
casts at Pompeii and Heraculeaum (which were also volcanic ash).

When this rhino was found someone had broken open the hardened ash to
the cavity that was the rhino form, and found the limb bones piled up at
the bottom of the chamber (which I rememebr as being now at the Burke
Museum?)

Lava I would suspect would simply burn the animal up to a simple carbon
smear.
