Venomous archosaurs
I remember reading a paper by Sues, I think, on the findings of a
potentially venom bearing archosaur in one of the scientific tabloids -
either science or nature? It was something like Uatchitodon..
Could anyone provide me with the exact name reference and whether this
beast has been confirmed since then to be an archosaur. To my knowledge only
a synapsid of the pre-cynodont grade was reported as having a channel that
could deliver something like venom. I think its name was Euchambersia. Can
you all provide more instances of such venomous animals. It is a strange
mystery that theropods and mammals never developed such toxins. Are there
any instances in the birds other than those that steal them from the frogs?
Thanks in advance
