Reference database
As an addendum to the recent thread on compiling a reference database,
anyone who takes on the task should remember that Fred Bervoets already has
a substantial database online at Dinodata. While Fred has no plans to make
this searchable other than by author as it is at present, he would have no
objection to others using his collection as a starting point.
Apart from BFV Online, there is also a substantial reference collection
online at the Wyoming Dinosaur Centre (at least, there was last time I
looked, which was a while ago).
I'd be happy to contribute the approx 2000 refs that are currently part of
the Dinosaur Encyclopaedia, and I suspect that several other list members
(who I won't name in case they don't want to be a part of such a project)
also have large databases that they might contribute.
Anyone who is contemplating this project might not find it quite as onerous
a task as it first sounds?
