Dinosaurs with Pygostyles

Barsbold R.; Currie, P.J.; Myhrvold, N.P.; Osmólska,
H.; Tsogtbaatar K.; and Watabe M. 2000. A pygostyle
from a non-avian theropod. Nature 403: ???-???.

Here's the publication of the short-tailed
oviraptorosaur in the Decemeber issue of _National
Geographic_, article by Sloan but with a one-pager
earlier showing Barsbold and Norell.

It's cool, and adds to our knowledge of dinosaurs,
but I haven't read it (this is off of the website) and
so I don't know if it has received a name (it should).
Meanwhile, it becomes the first theropod dinosaur to
have a definite pygostyle, with the possible exception
of *Caudipteryx* for which reasons I shall leave out
of this discussion of pygostyled dinos. One the other
manus, pterosaurs also have a member with a pygostyle,
*Pteranodon*, so I shouldn't think that pygostyles are
very unexpected in ornithodirans or at least in
dinosaurs [sensu Peters].

  Fun.
